Curriculum Overview and Philosophy: Teachers will be given a scope and sequence of the program and the research basis for its instructional design
Exploring an On-Line Student Lesson: A student lesson will be explored with teaching tips on monitoring student work during class.
Using Jamestown Reading Navigator Print Resources: The various print resources for Jamestown Reading Navigator will be reviewed. The use of these resources will be explained, illustrating how they are integrated with the on-line lessons and their use in collaborative test-based learning.
Accessing and Using the Learning Management System: Teachers will examine and learn to use the on-line management system which will give them access to student work and reports.
Use of Program Guide: Teachers will be given an over view of the program guide and examples of its use in classroom management and instruction.
Models of Classroom Management: Models for implementing Jamestown Reading Navigator on-line and print components will be explored. Teachers will develop a weekly plan based on a specific model.
What to Do If the Server Breaks Down: In this session teachers will explore options for literacy instruction when accessing Jamestown Reading Navigator on-line is unavailable.
